I can easily say that there are few things I need more when the wind chill arrives in the negative. Even though this past weekend marked my eight years in New York City, I still haven’t entirely gotten used to the cold. I almost immediately retreat indoors, becoming much more of a homebody; and as far as getting dressed, I cannot stress enough about the layering. I tend to layer thermals under most things but if I don’t, the alternative is usually something like this: draping oversized coats to create some sort of cocoon. Trust me, it works!
This coat arrived just in time for the cold weather front. I had stumbled upon it during my winter shopping expedition, while searching for anything warm. It’s by one of my favorite brands that I’ve shopped for years — Monki. One of the few brands that fits my body type perfectly with a great price point. The oversized fit is everything, while the shearling is what really blocks out the cold. Styled with a relaxed pair of denim and patterned shirt, the coat definitely won’t disappoint.
