when all else fails
PUT A HAT ON IT.
In case you’re wondering, I’m currently gripping a box of Kleenex, cringing as I try to stomach another cup of Theraflu, and praying I don’t end up being just another statistic during this flu season. Well, I’m self-diagnosed thanks to the hypochondriac’s mecca known as WebMD. Note to self: get the flu shot next year; note to you: go get a flu shot if you’re thinking of making any form of human contact in the near future.
Flu aside, my weekend was fun while it lasted – refer to photo two. I had been feeling slightly overwhelmed these past few weeks — from embracing my age plus one, planning the new move to my apartment, etc. Not sure how you deal with an inundation of mundane to-dos, but for me, dressing up for something as simple as a brunch date and filling my day with unplanned activities always does the trick. May just also be that I have good enough friends that don’t let me lounge around in sweats all day, feeling sorry for myself. Perspective, perspective.
So through the whelm-ness came inspiration, and from inspiration came this outfit. Last fashion week, I ran into June and since been looking for the perfect riding hat. Even though it’s hard to look half as good as she does, I tried nonetheless. Paired my hat in preppier ensemble, kind of school girl-esque with my embroidered initials and a-line skirt, but breaking the rules here with how mini this skirt really is. The gingham-stripe combo helps too.
